Taylor Fritz’s Girlfriend Morgan Riddle Shows Up To Watch US Open Mixed Doubles Despite His Early Exit With Elena Rybakina
Morgan Riddle made her presence felt at the US Open this week, even after her boyfriend, American tennis star Taylor Fritz, bowed out early from the mixed doubles competition. The social media influencer’s dedication to supporting Fritz shows just how invested she’s become in his tennis journey, turning what could have been a disappointing moment into another chance to cheer on the sport she’s grown to love.

How Did Taylor Fritz Fare in the Newly Restructured Mixed Doubles Draw?
Riddle turned up to watch the second day of the newly reformatted mixed doubles competition in Flushing Meadows, even as Fritz and doubles partner Elena Rybakina were eliminated in the opening round.

The US Open also spotlighted the discipline this year by introducing a revamped structure, limiting the draw to 16 teams, and scheduling matches over two days. Games were contested under a quicker system that included four-game sets, no-ad scoring, and a deciding 10-point tiebreak if required.

Fritz, teaming up with 2022 Wimbledon champion Rybakina, entered the tournament as the second seeds. The duo carried lofty expectations thanks to their singles resumes. Despite the excitement around their partnership, Fritz and Rybakina’s campaign ended almost as soon as it began.

In the opening round, they drew defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, who capitalized on their superior doubles chemistry to win 4-2, 4-2.

Riddle, however, didn’t let the early exit dampen her US Open spirit. She shared a snapshot from Day 2 of the mixed doubles event on her Instagram stories, captioning it: “Missed u!!!”

What Does Morgan Riddle Love Most About Traveling With Fritz?
In her July 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Riddle spoke about how much she values traveling alongside her boyfriend, Fritz. She also shared affectionate remarks about his dedication to his career and the encouragement he gives to her own pursuits.

“I didn’t travel very much growing up. We would go on spring break to South Dakota, but nowhere far-flung. So the idea of getting to travel the world and explore all these amazing places that the tennis tour brings us to was just amazing. I was and still am so game for it,” she said.

Beyond the travel adventures, Riddle highlighted what draws her to Fritz’s approach to his career.

“I like that he’s so determined in his work, it’s very inspiring. Every day, he inspires me to be the best version of myself – to work hard to achieve my goals. He’s so supportive of what I’ve done in tennis. A certain kind of guy wouldn’t be as comfortable with someone stepping into their space. We support each other and lift each other up. We’re a good team,” she added.

Fritz and Rybakina will now turn their focus to the singles draw, which begins August 24 in New York. Fritz, last year’s runner-up, will be aiming to capture his home Slam this year, while Rybakina will be focused on breaking past the third round, which remains her best showing in New York.
