Amanda Anisimova announces the end of her 2025 season on social media, ‘that’s a wrap’
Amanda Anisimova’s breakout season on the WTA Tour has come to a close.
The 24-year-old has risen to world number four after recording several superb tournament performances throughout the 2025 season.
The American reached two Grand Slam finals – Wimbledon and the US Open – and won two WTA 1000 titles in Qatar and China respectively.
Anisimova has been a shining light on the WTA Tour this year, and although she did not win her first major, surely it is only a matter of time before she accomplishes that feat.
Most recently, Anisimova reached the semi-finals of the WTA Finals, before losing to world number one Aryna Sabalenka.

Simply put, Amanda Anisimova has had the most impressive year of any player on the WTA Tour.
Anisimova reflected on her impressive year in an Instagram post, saying: “And that’s a wrap for my 2025 season.
“It was a year filled with milestones, heavy losses, cathartic moments, new cities, lessons, heartfelt memories, and the chance to meet some phenomenal people, along with everything else in between.
“With all that said, my 2025 wouldn’t have been the same or nearly as special, if it weren’t for the incredible people I have in my life.
“My family, my one of a kind team, my support system/best friends, my fans, my sponsors, and all those whom I love very much and couldn’t imagine living this chaotic life without.
“I’ve felt genuine joy throughout pretty much this whole year, whether it was at home or on the road. And to me, that’s my biggest win of 2025.
“Can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
Anisimova will head into the 2026 season as possibly the most likely player to win a maiden Grand Slam title.
After all, the American has reached two Grand Slam finals in 2025 and has the game to beat all of her main rivals on the WTA Tour.
She has proven this throughout 2025, defeating Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek [twice] and Coco Gauff.

However, if she is to become world number one in 2026, the American will have to overcome a deficit of over 4000 points.
As it stands, Anisimova sits 4,583 points behind Aryna Sabalenka, who recently secured the year-end world number one trophy for a second consecutive year.
Anisimova will also need to fend off Elena Rybakina, who has been in red-hot form throughout the latter portion of 2025.
The Kazakhstani star, winner of the 2022 Wimbledon Ladies Singles title, won her last 11 matches of the WTA Tour season.
During this stretch, Rybakina won the Ningbo Open and ~WTA Finals~ .
