Trinity Rodman Delivers a Two-Sport Spectacle in Atlanta Alongside Ben Shelton
Shelton had returned to his hometown for a rare gathering of global tennis talent ahead of the inaugural Atlanta Cup on Saturday at Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia. With several top players already in town, the night before the exhibition turned into a courtside hangout during the Atlanta Hawks game.
Shelton took his seat at State Farm Arena with Rodman beside him, while four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios, and local favorite Christopher Eubanks were also spotted watching the Hawks battle the Denver Nuggets. The contest turned into a thriller as Denver mounted a massive comeback to edge Atlanta 134-133.
The basketball game still found room for its own playful moment courtesy of Rodman. The Hawks posted a reel showing the soccer star stepping up and knocking down a half-court shot, then breaking into a playful dance. Shelton reshared the clip on his Instagram story, accompanied by a sigh-of-relief emoji.
A few hours later, attention shifted to Duluth when the official Atlanta Cup Instagram account released a carousel of photos capturing Rodman and Shelton rallying on the court inside Gas South Arena, giving fans an early glimpse into the lighthearted atmosphere surrounding the exhibition.
How Have Rodman and Shelton Balanced Their Careers with Their Relationship?
Shelton and Rodman began their relationship in early 2025 and eventually confirmed it by sharing posts on social media. Despite their busy professional commitments, the two regularly offer fans small windows into their fun, easygoing dynamic. Rodman balances her duties with the Washington Spirit in the NWSL, while Shelton is frequently on the road competing across the ATP Tour.
Rodman is making the most of her offseason, taking advantage of a calmer period after a tough week in which her Washington Spirit squad fell to Gotham FC in the NWSL Championship.
