Former American Tennis player, Serena Willians, has reacted to the rumors of her returning to Tennis, three years after her retirement.
The rumors which were fueled by her registration with the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s testing pool, was debunked by the 44-year-old.
Serena on her X handle on Tuesday, stated that she is not going back to the sport.
Omg yall. I’m NOT coming back. This wildfire is crazy,” she wrote.
The spokesperson for ITIA, however, revealed that Serena asked to be reinstated into the testing pool.
“She has notified us that she wants to be reinstated into the testing pool. I do not know if this means she is coming back, or just giving herself the option. All I can say is she’s back in the pool.” Adrian Basset told ~The Athletic~ .
