Spanish sensation Paula Badosa turned 28 on Nov. 15, 2025, and shared glimpses of the heartwarming birthday wishes she received from her younger sister, Jana, and mother, Mireia Gibert. The World No. 25 had concluded her season prematurely due to recurring and new injuries and last played at the China Open, where she lost the round of 32 to Karolína Muchová.

The winner of four WTA singles titles delivered impressive performances in her current season. She began her season at the Adelaide International and delivered notable performances at the 2025 Australian Open, advancing to the semifinal round. Apart from these feats, she also reached the quarterfinal rounds at the Merida Open Akron and Internationaux de Strasbourg.
Badosa reached the quarterfinal round in singles at the Berlin Grass Court Championships, and in the women’s doubles, she advanced to the semifinals, partnering with Ons Jabeur. Due to her recurring back problems and health issues, she remained absent from the Canadian Open, Cincinnati Masters, Mubadala Citi DC Open, Madrid Open, and Italian Open.
Through her Instagram stories, she shared the admirable messages she received from her mother and sister on her birthday. She replied to her mother’s wishes, adding, “La mama de la mama ♥️😍♥️😍 (The mother of the mother)”.
Her mother shared, “You’ve given me 28 years of adventure that I wouldn’t change for anything, in this world!!! keep shining, i love youuu 🫶.”
Her younger sister, Jana, with whom Badosa shared a profound bond, shared a collage of four photos featuring their shared moments throughout the years. In one of the pictures, Badosa was holding a younger Jana, and in another, she was wearing jeans and a denim jacket with her younger sister, looking up to her as she wore a similar outfit. Another glimpse featured Badosa sitting on a bench, holding Jana in her lap.
Through her Instagram story, Jana also shared a video of them dancing, accompanied by the message, “🎂🎂🎂.”
In one of her interviews, Badosa reflected on her parental role towards her sister, adding, “She’s the most important person in my life, so I would. She knows that I would do anything for her. I just want her to have an opportunity to do whatever she wants or her dream. I had my opportunity to make my dream come true, so I just want that for her.”
She continued expressing her bond with her sister, “We have a 10-year difference so I always felt that, of course, I’m her older sister but as I say, at the same time, I always felt like I had to like, be her second mom. I protect her so much.”
Along with her mother and sister, Badosa also enjoyed a vacation in Indonesia’s scenic landscape, which she took after concluding her season which was hampered by injuries.
