Massive Storm. “Parody.” Tennis Star Lost Her Cool.

Caroline Wozniacki has had enough. After a Danish journalist called the tennis star’s potential return to the court a “parody,” she decided to respond publicly on social media — and she didn’t mince words, calling him a “clown.”

It all started on Tuesday evening when the newspaper B.T. quoted Peter Bastiansen, a journalist from TV 2, who criticized Wozniacki. He didn’t like that the player hadn’t made it clear whether she was officially retiring from tennis or possibly planning a comeback after giving birth to her third child.

Bastiansen stated that if she decided to return once again, “it would be a parody.” Wozniacki couldn’t stay silent. She posted a screenshot of the article on her Instagram along with a lengthy response.

Caroline Wozniacki fires back: You’re a clown

“It’s been more than 20 years since Peter Bastiansen started bullying me, attacking me in the media, and talking about things he knows nothing about. Peter, you’re a clown, and as a so-called ‘tennis expert,’ you should know the rules. It’s hard to follow them when you’ve never played at a high level yourself,” Wozniacki began.

“I have a frozen ranking of No. 71 in the world, which means I don’t need wild cards to enter major tournaments. After years of hard training and competing at the highest level, I have the right to do what’s best for my family,” she added.

“I don’t understand why TV 2, B.T., and other media still use his quotes when there are many better experts in Denmark,” she concluded.

The last time we saw Wozniacki on the world stage was at last year’s US Open. Earlier this summer, she gave birth to her third child — a son named Max.
