David and Victoria Beckham ‘devastated’ as they prepare to miss Brooklyn’s birthday

Brooklyn Beckham’s 27th birthday is shaping up to be very different this year in the aftermath of his family fallout.

David and Victoria Beckham are feeling ‘reluctant’ to even reach out to their son when he celebrates turning another year older on March 4, just six weeks after he finally addressed his estrangement from his parents.

Following years of speculation of a feud, Brooklyn shared an explosive statement on his Instagram story where he accused his parents of prioritising ‘Brand Beckham’ over family.

Among the sensational claims, the eldest Beckham child also claimed his mother ‘hijacked’ his first dance at his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz by ‘inappropriately’ dancing on him – with the moves leaving him ‘humiliated’.

Brooklyn will be marking his special day Stateside, where he now lives with his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, and without his family by his side.

A source told Metro: ‘David and Victoria are disappointed that they won’t even be in contact with Brooklyn for his birthday this year.

It feels so different to how they usually celebrate together as a family. They love doing big family dinners with all of the kids and showering them with love, not to mention the childhood photos and tributes they share on Instagram.

They added: ‘There’s even a reluctance to reach out this year, which is devastating. Brooklyn made his feelings clear in his statement and it feels like it’s best to leave any thoughts of a reunion up to him for now.’

After months of speculation and rumours surrounding the nature of his relationship with his parents Brooklyn broke his silence in January in a no-holds-barred statement.

He also came out in full force to defend wife Nicola Peltz, 31, and shared shocking details of alleged events at their wedding, claiming the Lola actress has been ‘consistently disrespected’ by his relatives.

Among his allegations, the former photographer accused his family of ‘bribery’ and ‘controlling’ him.

He also declared emphatically that he does not wish to reconcile with his former pro footballer dad and fashion designer mum, despite recent swirling reports that a reunion could be on the cards.

Furthermore, Brooklyn – whose rift with his family was initially said to have begun when he failed to attend his dad’s 50th celebrations – said he wished to keep matters private to start with.

However, he claims his parents have left him with ‘no choice’ but to ‘tell the truth’ after allegedly trying to peddle a certain narrative in the media.

The last time Brooklyn and Nicola were pictured with the family as a whole was Christmas 2024.

Beginning his social media statement, Brooklyn wrote: ‘I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

‘I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.

For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.’

He went on to say his parents have been ‘trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship since before [his] wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.’
