The announcement was made shortly after Carlos Alcaraz’s confirmation of his Davis Cup Finals withdrawal.

If the pair do meet in London, Alcaraz will hope to avenge his 2025 Laver Cup loss to Fritz, and help Team Europe win the Laver Cup for a sixth time.

Team World won the 2025 event following superb outings from the likes of Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz and Joao Fonseca.

Team World have won three Laver Cup titles, while Team Europe have won five.
