Ben Shelton Opens Up About What It’s Been Like Staying With Girlfriend Trinity Rodman, Sister Emma, and Family During Wimbledon

Ben Shelton recently shared his thoughts on having the support of his family, including his girlfriend Trinity Rodman and sister Emma, during the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. Shelton and Rodman publicly confirmed their relationship earlier this year in March.

Shelton is seeded 10th at the grass court Major, and he began his campaign by defeating qualifier Alex Bolt in the first round, winning 6-4, 7-6(1), 7-6(4).

He then eliminated Rinky Hijikata 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 and followed it up by a win against lucky loser Márton Fucsovics with scores of 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-2 in the second and third rounds, respectively.
This is Shelton’s second time reaching the fourth round at the London Major.

During the post-match press conference following his victory over Fucsovics, Shelton spoke about having his family by his side during Wimbledon. He stated that spending time with friends and family, particularly those of his own age, has been a “nice” experience.

“Yeah, it’s huge. Not just being on the court, but also we’re staying in a house. So to have friends and family, people to hang out with, and people my age is nice. We’ve really enjoyed it,” Shelton said.

The World No. 10 mentioned that he shares a close bond with his sister Emma and that they are having fun together in London, especially on his off days between matches. He has previously referred to Emma as his “lucky charm,” as he has won every match at Wimbledon when she is in attendance.

“Obviously, really close with my sister, and so all of us have kind of been having fun this week, enjoying the off days and the match days the same. So it’s been great. It’s important to me,” he continued.

Shelton acknowledged that the tennis season can be quite lengthy, and having his family close by provides him with support and allows them to enjoy their time together.

“The tennis season’s long, so the times when you can get people together to come, travel with you, or be at a tournament, especially if it’s a big tournament, it’s a lot of fun.

And I know that me and my whole family, everybody enjoys it,” Shelton added.
Ben Shelton Will Face Lorenzo Sonego at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships Fourth Round
After defeating Marton Fucsovics in the third round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Shelton is set to face Lorenzo Sonego in the fourth round of the tournament.

Sonego began his Wimbledon run by defeating qualifier Jaime Faria in the first round with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. He triumphed over qualifier, Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-1, 6-3, 6-7(3), 7-6(4) in the second round.

In the third round, the Italian faced 29th seed Brandon Nakashima and eliminated him with a score of 6-7(5), 7-6(8), 7-6(2), 3-6, 7-6(3). This victory secured his place in the fourth round, where he will go up against the World No. 10.

Shelton and Sonego have clashed four times on the ATP Tour, with the American emerging victorious in three of those encounters. Their most recent meeting was in the first round of the 2025 French Open, where Shelton secured a 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win.

The winner of the fourth round match between Shelton and Sonego at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face either top seed Jannik Sinner or 19th seed Grigor Dimitrov.
