Iga Swiatek issues emotional statement on Instagram regarding her Wimbledon title win.

Iga Swiatek will likely still be in celebration mode, with the Pole having just won a maiden Wimbledon title.

Wim Fissette has congratulated Swiatek on her success, with the coach playing a key role in her fantastic run at the All England Club.

Swiatek has now climbed to WTA number three after winning Wimbledon, which represents her sixth Grand Slam title.

She has won all six of her final appearances, and now boasts a stunning 23 WTA Tour titles at the age of 24.

The latest arrived via a ruthless final performance against Amanda Anisimova, who she beat 6-0, 6-0 after 57 minutes.

Swiatek reacted to her Wimbledon title on social media shortly after the final, but has now issued a much lengthier statement now that the dust has settled.

She wrote on Instagram: “Winning Wimbledon was always such a distant dream for me that it actually has never crossed my mind to think about it.

“It’s hard to describe the emotions that arise in me now that this dream has come true. Even after these few days I am still putting it together in my mind.

“I am very happy and proud that working day after day and having the support of my team in every situation (as I said after the game, sometimes they believed in me more than I believed in myself), we achieved something so magical.

“Now I understand this uniqueness and, in a way, the momentousness of this tournament. I will never forget these emotions and experiences as much as I will always remember how much work on and off the court it cost me to get to this place. And now it’s time to catch my breath.”
