What Emma Raducanu said was ‘remarkable’ about Harry Kane after meeting him.
Emma Raducanu was able to meet the captain of England’s national football team.
Raducanu won the US Open in 2021, but has faced many struggles with injury and a loss of form since then.
The Briton has been offered a lot of advice since then, including Formula One star Lewis Hamilton attempting to help Raducanu.
Raducanu has also spoken to football superstar Harry Kane, and she admitted she found something ‘remarkable’ after meeting him.
What Emma Raducanu said was ‘really cool’ about speaking to Harry Kane
Ahead of the 2023 season, Raducanu spoke in an interview with The Guardian where she was asked about meeting Kane.
While she admitted they had not had too much opportunity to speak, Raducanu spoke about how she had been inspired by Kane and how humble he was.
“Harry’s obviously such a great role model and very professional and I think to be able to speak to him is really cool,” said Raducanu.
“We haven’t spoken so much but he’s obviously an outstanding player, and it’s just pretty cool isn’t it? For someone of his achievements, it’s pretty remarkable how he’s so humble. I respect him a lot.
“It’s obviously really cool to speak to some other athletes. I think it’s good because we all kind of understand what each other are thinking and going through at times. And at the end of the day they’re just really cool people as well.”

Tennis is not the only sport that Raducanu enjoys, having also participated in motorsport a lot growing up.
At the 2022 Stuttgart Open, Raducanu was spotted practicing in a Tottenham Hotspur football shirt.
When asked about this by media ahead of the tournament, Raducanu revealed that a lot of her team were supporters of Tottenham, and wanted her to join them, despite admitting that she was not so much of a football fan.
Raducanu also suggested that Kane was a part of the reason that she was taking an interest in Tottenham.
“My whole team basically are big Spurs fans and I feel like they’re egging me on,” said Raducanu. “They’re desperately trying to get me behind them. I don’t necessarily follow football so much, but I feel like now because of them I’m feeling some sort of connection.
“I loved following the Euros last year and watching Harry Kane, who’s obviously the England captain, and [Heung-min] Son, I’m a big fan of him as well. So yeah, I like to dabble.”
However, since Raducanu made these comments, both Kane and Heung-min Son have left Tottenham Hotspur to play elsewhere.
