Amanda Anisimova announces her first tournament of 2026 which includes Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina
Amanda Anisimova enjoyed an incredible season in 2025, which saw her break into the top five of the rankings for the first time.
Although Anisimova did not win that elusive Grand Slam, the American star did reach back-to-back finals at Wimbledon and the US Open.
Anisimova was dubbed ‘most improved’ by Sam Querrey and Jack Sock for a season which saw her win the China Open and the Qatar Open.
The 24-year-old will be looking to continue her upward trend in 2026, and she’s already announced her first tournament of the year.
Amanda Anisimova will play the Brisbane International
Anisimova has been confirmed for the Brisbane International as the American looks to begin her Australian Open preparation.
The tournament will begin on January 4 and will also feature Madison Keys, Elena Rybakina, and Aryna Sabalenka.
Sabalenka and Rybakina have previous success at the Brisbane International, having won the tournament in the last two years.
The American will be playing the Australian tournament for the first time in her career, although she has tasted success on this leg of the tour before.
The 23-year-old won the Melbourne Summer Set in 2022 after defeating Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the final.
What Amanda Anisimova said after ending her 2025 season
Anisimova might have tasted heartbreak on several occasions in 2025, but she still looks back fondly on the season.
On Instagram, the American wrote: “That’s a wrap for my 2025 season. It was a year filled with milestones, heavy losses, cathartic moments, new cities, lessons, heartfelt memories, and the chance to meet some phenomenal people, along with everything else in between.
“With all that said, my 2025 wouldn’t have been the same or nearly as special, if it weren’t for the incredible people I have in my life.
“My family, my one of a kind team, my support system/best friends, my fans, my sponsors, and all those whom I love very much and couldn’t imagine living this chaotic life without.
“I’ve felt genuine joy throughout pretty much this whole year, whether it was at home or on the road. And to me, that’s my biggest win of 2025. Can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
Anisimova is next in action against Jessica Pegula for an exhibition match in her home state of New Jersey at the Prudential Center.
