Emma Raducanu opens up on enjoying regular-person activities during offseason.

Emma Raducanu reveals she has been enjoying regular-person activities during the offseason as the British tennis star has been spending a lot of time in Bromley and visiting local coffee shops, as well as commuting on the train.

Due to an injury, Raducanu’s 2025 season ended a bit prematurely – she put a curtain on her year after losing to Zhu Lin in the Ningbo first round on October 14th.

After flying back to Great Britain, Raducanu first took some time to see what she could do about the multiple physical setbacks that hampered her late in the year. Then, the 2021 US Open champion started giving herself a nice rest – in one Instagram post, she revealed that she had visited Kent and one of their vineyards.

But most of the time, Raducanu has spent in Bromley – the place where she grew up.
This week, the world No. 29 gathered with British reporters for a conversation and shared how her offseason has been going.

Raducanu: I’m so settled… I’ve visited some amazing coffee shops and been commutting on the train during the rush hour

“I’m just so settled. I’ve barely been in the UK this year because I’ve been competing so much, but I think just spending really good quality time with my parents has been so nice. I have loved just being in Bromley. It just reminds me of when I was a younger kid and it’s the same bedroom, same everything,” the 23-year-old said.

“Bromley has some amazing speciality coffee shops now that didn’t exist a few years ago. And I’ve been trying every new spot. It’s been really nice, and obviously so much greenery, and it’s been fun actually. I’ve been commuting on the train. So I’ve been part of rush hour every day, which has also been an experience. But it’s like my switch off. As soon as I get on the South Western to Waterloo, I’m just like: ‘My day is done now.’”

Raducanu’s 2026 season will start at the United Cup, which is scheduled for January 02-11.
