Inside the Beckham ‘feud’, as Brooklyn fails to attend Sir David’s knighthood.

All is not well in Beckhamville. The Beckham family feud rumours have been ongoing for months now. Lines have been drawn, with it being reported that Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have “quit the family” after being absent from Beckham family events since Christmas.

Evidence of the feud has been mounting week by week. It was first brought to light in April 2025, when TMZ reported a clash between Brooklyn and his brother Romeo. However, the feud is now thought to be a family-wide affair.

In the meantime, Brooklyn renewed his wedding vows without a single Beckham family member present, has failed to address any Beckham family birthdays apart from his sister and grandfather, and has unfollowed both of his brothers on Instagram. And yet, Brooklyn’s failure to attend David’s knighthood ceremony at Windsor Castle was the most public demonstration yet that no white flags will be waved anytime soon.

Last month, Brooklyn and Victoria Beckham appear to have both addressed the feud rumours within the same week. Talk of the family rift has gained renewed relevance due to Victoria’s Netflix documentary, streaming now, and Brooklyn’s participation in the Ryder Cup celebrity golf tournament.

According to The Mirror, Victoria’s documentary has brought up a lot of difficult feelings around the feud, with a source telling the publication: “She found it very emotional but liberating at the same time. It made her realise how much she is loved, how her family have supported her and got her through the ups and downs.

“It was very much a roller coaster of emotions because of the big thing that’s still affecting her, her fractured relationship with Brooklyn. But it also made her realise that she can’t keep raking over the heartbreak of this situation with him, enough is enough, now.”

Meanwhile, on September 24, Brooklyn was asked by the Daily Mail about the constant chatter around his personal life. “There’s always going to be people saying negative things,” he told the Mail, “but I have a very supportive wife. Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy.

Speaking from the Ryder Cup tournament, he continued: “Everyone is always going to say rubbish. I just try and do this, play some golf with some friends. It’s good fun.”

But if there was ever an opportunity to wave the white flag of peace, it is now, with the release of Victoria Beckham’s documentary and Sir David’s knighthood. At the Netflix premiere in London, VB gave an emotional thank you to her entire family, including Brooklyn. “My children — Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper — and David, oh my God he’s not a child!

“I was doing so well without [prompt] cards as well! It’s taken this process to really be proud of what I’ve achieved and to realise finally that I am enough.”

Just two years ago, the entire Beckham clan gathered to celebrate the release of David Beckham’s documentary, Beckham, on Netflix. This included Brooklyn and Nicola, but the pair were a no-show at the debut of Victoria’s three-episode limited series.

Speaking after he was knighted by King Charles, David, 50, admitted he was ‘tearful’.

“Today has been such an emotional day — more emotion than nerves, in all honesty. There have been a few tears and a lot of emotion. It’s been a very special day. It’s something that we can all be proud of today as a family,” he told The Sun. Making no mention of Brooklyn’s absence, he continued: “To have my parents there today, to have my wife there to celebrate with my children, it makes it a very emotional day. “

It has been reported that Brooklyn has requested “no contact” with his family, with his actions speaking louder than TMZ sources ever could. Perhaps the most undeniable evidence of the family feud came in early August, when Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their wedding vows just five years after their wedding — without a single Beckham family member present.

“[The vow renewal] was the final kick in the teeth for David and Victoria,” a source told the Sun of the family’s response. “Seeing Nelson [Peltz, Nicola’s father] having such a pivotal role at the ceremony was heartbreaking for David especially. Not one member of the 30-plus extended family knew about the wedding, or were invited.

“His grandparents are devastated too as Brooklyn has always been so close to them.”

The source added: “It feels cruel and spiteful. This is no longer a game. It has gone beyond all that. This is a family who feel they have lost their precious boy — and see no way back.

“Honestly, they are now questioning why he even wants to keep the ‘Beckham’ surname — will he revert to Peltz? August 2nd 2025 — is this the day Brooklyn formally declared himself no longer a part of the Beckham family? It certainly feels like it.”

No one from the Beckham clan addressed the vow renewal online.

For the vow renewal, Nicola wore her 70-year-old mother’s vintage 1985 bridal gown, while her father Nelson, 83, was given the key role of officiating. Parallels have been drawn between these decisions and the choices made during Nicola and Brooklyn’s 2022 wedding, where a feud allegedly broke out over Nicola’s decision not to wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria Beckham. Further rumours emerged from the night implying that Victoria Beckham had “upstaged” the bride during certain moments of the wedding.

Before the vow renewal, Brooklyn Beckham had already raised eyebrows by failing to address a series of Beckham family milestones on social media, including David Beckham’s naming in the King’s birthday honours, Father’s Day, David’s birthday, Victoria’s birthday, and the couple’s 26th wedding anniversary. Then, on July 10, Brooklyn unfollowed his two brothers — Cruz and Romeo — on Instagram, confirming the feud. Speaking to the Standard, a source revealed that Brooklyn has “likely blocked” his brothers on social media.

Since the alleged no-contact request, Brooklyn has publicly broken his silence twice, however, in the service of two birthdays: on July 10 for Harper Seven (the same day he unfollowed his brothers), and on Thursday, July 24, for his grandfather, David “Ted” Beckham, father of David Beckham. The photo, posted in celebration of Ted’s 77th birthday, shows Brooklyn and his grandfather at Ted’s wedding celebrations, where the entire Beckham family was in attendance, in 2021.

The only implication that reconciliation may in fact be possible came when Brooklyn and Nicola were recently photographed having a long lunch with Brooklyn’s godfather, Elton John, while on holiday in St Tropez.

Elton John is a close friend of Victoria and David Beckham, and he has been in Brooklyn’s life for a long time. Brooklyn used to spend his childhood holidays at Elton John’s home in Nice, and the Tiny Dancer singer was present at Brooklyn and Romeo’s joint christening in 2004.

A source told The Sun: “Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and [Elton] has gently suggested to all involved that life is short — to patch things up.”

Brooklyn appears to have been impacted by the conversation, at least enough to use the Elton John song “Cold Heart” (featuring Dua Lipa) in an Instagram story of Peltz after the meeting.

The apparent ‘feud’ has been a war waged on Instagram. For the past few months, Brooklyn has almost exclusively posted about his wife, hot sauce brand, and in-laws. On July 2, Brooklyn posted a Happy Birthday message to his father-in-law — Nelson Peltz — after months of failing to mention his own family.
