Noa Lynn van Leuven, Beau Greaves and Fallon Sherrock were all title winners from last weekend’s PDC Women’s Series events.
The PDC Women’s Series returned last weekend for events 9-12, taking place in Rosmalen, Netherlands.
There were only 72 entries across the weekend, a decrease from the 83 entries from events 5-8.
Event 9&10
Noa Lynn van Leuven was dominant on the Saturday, winning both events, defeating German first-time finalist Stephanie Lueck 5-0 in the final of the ninth event, and Wales’ Rhian O’Sullivan 5-1 in the final of the tenth event.
The Dutchwoman had a slow start to this season’s Women’s Series, with last year’s PDC World Championship participant failing to reach a final of any of the first eight events. The two event win’s now ties her and Mikuru Suzuki for the fourth most Women’s Series titles with six.
The 2024 Challenge Tour event winner averaged 82 across event nine, and 83 across event ten. ‘The Dutchess’ defeated Kyana Fraunfelder, Anu Rasmus, Kim Palstra, Gemma Hayter and fellow Dutchwoman Aileen De Graaf in the semi-finals of event nine. van Leuven then defeated Diana van Eckelen, Julia Seik, Beau Greaves, Jade Gofford and Belgian Dana Verhaegen to reach the event ten final.
Stephanie Lueck made her first Women’s Series final in event nine. A relative unknown before, the German grew into the tournament. Two sub-70 averages in her first two games were followed by wins over established Women’s Series players Lorraine Hyde and Laura Turner, before a great display, averaging 88 in the semi-final against Finland’s Kirsi Viinakainen.
Rhian O’Sullivan reached the final on Saturday despite only averaging 72 across her six matches, with her highest being 80.05, in her 5-4 win over Fallon Sherrock in the quarter-finals.
Reigning WDF Women’s World Champion and Women’s World Matchplay Champion Beau Greaves was knocked out early in both of Saturday’s tournaments, losing out in the last 32 of event nine to Robyn Byrne, and out in the last 16 of event ten to van Leuven.
Event 11&12
Fallon Sherrock picked up her 20th Women’s Series title, whitewashing Lisa Ashton 5-0 in the first final of Sunday’s action.
‘The Queen of the Palace’ averaged just shy of 82 in the final, to win her second Women’s Series title of 2025.
Despite winning the event, there were some uncharacteristic performances by Sherrock, including an average of 60.23 in her last 64 win over Wendy Reinstadtler, and an average of 62.54 in her 4-1 win over Laura Turner in the last 16.
In event 12, Beau Greaves displayed fine form in picking up her 6th Women’s title of the season. ‘Beau and Arrow’ averaged a ton, defeating Ireland’s Robyn Byrne 5-0, in a game that only lasted nine minutes.
Greaves averaged 84 across event twelve, including an average just shy of 90 in her quarter-final against Gemma Hayter, and an 84 average in her 5-3 semi-final win over Fallon Sherrock.
Gemma Hayter had a solid weekend, with the Portsmouth native reaching three quarter-finals across the four events.
After 12 events. Beau Greaves has a commanding lead at the top of the Women’s Series order of Merit, £6,200 ahead of second place Fallon Sherrock. After her two event wins, Noa Lynn van Leuven put herself back into World Championship contention, as she rises up to fourth, just £400 behind four-time BDO Women’s World Champion Lisa Ashton.
The Women’s Series will continue on the 7th and 8th of June, with events 13-16 taking place from the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.
The next four events will determine the lineup for the 2025 Women’s World Matchplay. Greaves, van Leuven and Sherrock are guaranteed quaifiation, with Lisa Ashton and Robyn Byrne more than likely sealed for Blackpool. Gemma Hayter, Kirsi Viinikainen and Lorraine Winstanley currently make up the provisional spots, with Aileen de Graaf, Angela Kirkwood and Rhian O’Sullivan all in with a chance of quaification.
