Carlos Alcaraz is on the verge of his third consecutive final at Wimbledon. The Spanish tennis player reached the semifinalsafter defeating Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-3. He maintained his winning streak against a British player in this Grand Slam: five matches and as many victories. This edition he already overcame Oliver Tarvet in the second round. He also extended his unbeaten run against a left-hander in a major: twelve out of twelve.
Alcaraz will now face American Taylor Fritz in the semifinals. The match will be played on Friday, July 11 at a time to be confirmed, but it is expected to open the day’s play on Centre Court at 8:30 am.
Alcaraz and Fritz have met twice. Juan Carlos Ferrero’s pupil won both encounters. The first, in 2023 in the quarterfinals of the Master 1000 in Miami. The second, in 2024, in the Laver Cup.
