Welcome to the new era of transparency when it comes to aesthetics. It seems that a dam has broken, whether it’s Kris Jenner’s openness about the surgeon behind her new facelift or Kylie Jenner detailing the exact size and geolocation of her breast implants (‘445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!! Silicone!!!’, in case you’re interested.) And now it’s the turn of Victoria Beckham to get up close and personal on the truth about her ‘eye lift’.
Not an actual surgical eye lift, we hasten to add. The Spice Girl turned beauty CEO has been indulging in a skin-tightening aesthetic treatment performed by A-list facialist Keren Bartov, which the pair have shared on their Instagram channels.
Victoria can be seen laying back on the couch, smothered in lubricating gel and having her face thoroughly worked upon as part of what Keren calls her ‘Mini Lift’.
As the super-facialist glides what she calls a ‘medical device’ around Victoria’s eyes, she gives a running commentary: ‘Lifting the eye area, like surgery without surgery.’
After praising the star’s enviably sculpted face (‘You have an amazing jawline,’ she tells her), Keren explains she’s using ‘ultrasound with radiofrequency’ to kick-start skin rejuvenation from within and smooth away wrinkles.
‘It’s a medical device to bring in new collagen, to lift the skin. It’s like ironing the skin.’ she tells her. (How very Good Housekeeping-appropriate!)
By ‘ironing’, we’ve gleaned she means the impressive tightening effect of the RF and ultrasound technologies together. And judging by Victoria’s placid expression, we can only assume there’s no uncomfortable, zig-a-zig-OW! heat involved in this one.
The multitasking tool has plenty of other jobs to do, besides ‘ironing’ Victoria’s face. ‘We also work on the wrinkles with this device,’ says Keren. ‘It’s for texture, pigmentation; it’s even good for someone who has acne, scars, open pores and it’s also for anti-ageing for rejuvenation.’
The Mini Lift is Keren’s signature treatment and one of ‘more than 50 advanced technologies’ she has in her treatment locker at her exclusive London clinic. Keren likes to personalise it to each client’s need, but as a ballpark figure you’re looking at £500-£1,200 a session.
Although many celebrities have it before major appearances, it’s designed as part of a regular, ongoing skincare routine for anyone looking to maintain healthy, radiant, firm skin.
You may have a long wait if you fancy booking in, as Keren has a large and extremely starry client list, which includes the likes of Cate Blanchett, Demi Moore and Gal Gadot.
Keren is clearly delighted to add Posh to that illustrious list, as her treatment video is accompanied by a caption that gushes: ‘It is both an honour and a privilege to be part of the beauty ritual of the incomparable Victoria Beckham – an enduring icon of timeless beauty and refined style. Treating her has been the fulfilment of one of my greatest personal and professional dreams.’
So we’re guessing it went well, then.
