‘We are so grateful’: Ash Barty announces birth of daughter
Australian tennis legend Ash Barty has announced the birth of her second child, sharing the news of her daughter’s arrival on social media.
Barty and her husband, Garry Kissick, posted an image of her newborn daughter on Instagram on Monday. They were greeted with hundreds of messages of support and love for the family.
“Welcome to the world, Jordan 💕” Barty wrote on Instagram on Monday.
“You are loved unconditionally and we are so grateful to have you in our arms, gorgeous girl.”
In the photo, Jordan is wearing a onesie that says “embrace your weird”.
Jordan is the sister of Hayden, Barty’s first child, who is now nearly two years old.
Former Aussie tennis player and close friend Casey Dellacqua wrote, “There she is… hi gorgeous Jordan. Can’t wait to cuddle you soon. Good job Mum and Dad xx”.
Barty retired from professional tennis in 2022 after reaching the heights of international tennis. In her career, she won three grand slams, including Wimbledon, the French Open and the Australian Open.
Since retirement she has released a children’s book, My Dream For You, as well as a memoir. She also set up the Ash Barty Foundation that supports communities and young people with grants and equipment donations.
