BARTY BABY: Aussie tennis Icon Ash Barty and husband Garry kissick have welcome their second child. Detail Unravel

Ash Barty has shared some joyful family news: the arrival of her second child, a baby girl, named Jordan.

The retired tennis champion and her husband, Garry Kissick, welcomed their daughter with a sweet photo of the newborn. In the image, Jordan is wearing an adorable onesie bearing the message “Embrace your weird.”

Ash and Garry wrote in the post: “Welcome to the world, Jordan 💕 You are loved unconditionally and we are so grateful to have you in our arms, gorgeous girl.”

Jordan is the second child of Ash and her husband, Garry Kissick. The couple, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in Queensland in 2022, are already parents to son Hayden. He was born in July 2023.

Ash Barty and her husband revealed they were expecting baby number two with a festive family announcement on Christmas Day 2024. They posted a cute photo of little Hayden wearing a T-shirt that read: “I’m going to be a BIG BROTHER.”

Since her surprise retirement from tennis in early 2022, Ash has embraced a new chapter. A chapter which includes balancing motherhood with her passions off the court. She’s published a bestselling memoir, authored a children’s book series, and continues to champion youth and diversity in her role as Tennis Australia’s National Indigenous Tennis Ambassador.

Earlier this year, Mattel immortalised Ash and fellow Aussie tennis icon Evonne Goolagong Cawley as Barbies for International Women’s Day 2025. It was a touching nod to their legacy and influence both on and off the court.

The post sharing the news of the couple’s baby girl has garnered tens of thousands of likes and comments from across the world.

Notable congratulations have come in from tennis bodies (such as Tennis Australia and the Australian Open) and brands like Vegemite (which Ash has partnered with in the past). Local celebrities and media personalities have also sent their congratulations. Dr Chris Brown wrote, “Congrats you guys! So special ❤️”. Actress and radio personality Christie Hayes wrote, “Congrats mumma! Xx welcome to the world Jordan! 💕 Enjoy this special time for you all as a family x”. Athletes also shared their congratulations. Former Australian #1 tennis player Casey Dellacqua wrote,” There she is 🥹💞🫶 hi gorgeous Jordan. Can’t wait to cuddle you soon. Good job Mum and Dad xx”.” Also among the athletes were tennis player Lizette Cabrera and golfer ~Anthony Quayle~ .
