Iglesias and Kournikova met in 2001 and have since welcomed three children together
Enrique Iglesias, who draws thousands of screaming girls to his shows, is opening up about how his longtime partner feels about fans approaching him for a kiss.
In a clip from the Spanish singer’s interview on SiriusXM’s FYI Show on Wednesday, May 8, Iglesias revealed Anna Kournikova’s thoughts on the matter.
“I’ve seen you at shows where you kiss a fan. Does Anna ever get jealous?” host Mack asked Iglesias, 49.
“Not at all,” he said. “Anna will be at one of my shows and I’ll do that. I do that all the time — I love embracing, kissing and hugging my fans. I like getting close up.”
And a lot of times she [says], ‘Man, I always get this look from some of the girls… and they’ll ask, “Are you OK with it?” Yeah I’m totally cool he’s onstage. He’s embracing his fans,'” Iglesias continued.
“I just love to get so much love from my fans and know that if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am,” he concluded.
Iglesias and Kournikova, a former tennis player, met in 2001 on the set of his “Escape” music video. They started dating shortly after and have since welcomed three children together — — daughter Mary, 4, and twins Nicholas and Lucy, 6.
Speaking to PEOPLE for a cover story in October, the “Hero” singer recalled when they first met.
“[The video changed my life] in ways that I didn’t even think about,” he said at the time, adding that they “grew up” together in the spotlight which created a foundation for their relationship.

“When we met — although she came from the sports world — in a way, we kind of got each other. She knew what my world was like. I kind of knew what her world was like. So that understanding helped a lot,” he continued. “We just started connecting little by little and got stronger and stronger and stronger.”
“You learn as you go. You have your good times, your bad times, and if you can get through the bad times, you’ll get to the really good times,” Iglesias said. “A lot of people say, ‘Oh, well, I know this is the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.’ I do kind of agree with that, but at the same time, you really never know where life is going to take you and what can happen.”
